Welcome to OpenBeast. Describe yourself with three adjectives.

Not possible. Luckily I have done too much in my short life to describe myself only in three adjectives. That’s my perception off course (smiles)!

How and why did you get into theater, acting and the movie business?

By accident! Like most other things in Life….

Tell us something about JAL.

As the name suggests it has something to do with WATER… We as a planet are replenishing all our natural resources fast. JAL is a story of a community in Rann of Kutch dealing with the issue.

Describe your one best achievement or gig thus far.

There have been many moments… like my first big premiere of German film Shadows of Time in Berlinale, to being nominated for best actress for Brick Lane, along with Actresses like Dame Judi Dench, to Winning the best actress in New York for Dekh Indian Circus, just last month. But I don’t thrive in past achievements; looking forward to the next big one yet to come.

What are your personal strengths and how did those help in your professional success?

I have a very supporting family. My parents are my biggest critic and my greatest support. I am a Sagittarian; super optimistic in life. And also a true follower of Gita. I don’t expect results. I just do what I enjoy doing and what I believe is right. I don’t compete with anyone… happy with oneself.

Any upcoming projects or initiatives you would like to discuss?

BMW directed by Aditya Bhattacharya, Dekh Indian Circus, directed by Mangesh Hadawale, Monsoon Shootout, directed by Amit Kumar, Bhiopal: A Prayer for Rain, directed by Ravi Kumar… JAL by Girish Malik and many other films.

What are your leisure time activities?

Writing, reading and music!

If you could live anywhere where would you build your dream home?

Am a gypsy (smiles)!

Thank you.
