Welcome to OpenBeast. Describe yourself in just three adjectives.

Courageous, loving, and free-spirited.

How and why did Cali Rossen become an actress?

How I began my adult journey as an actress was by being discovered by a Casting Director, C.J. from Shirley Abrams Casting in Dallas Texas in 1995. C.J. watered a seed that had been planted in my heart long ago, and it began to sprout. I loved being in plays and commercials as a child/teen. I chose to become an actress because it’s a way for me to channel my vast creativity, by expressing my authentic feelings in a safe space, and collaborate with other talented people. Films/stories I believe are of the healing arts; I once believed acting was a selfish pursuit, until the day I met a casting director from the show TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, who shared that he believed acting was one of the most generous professions out there. That statement moved my soul, and I knew in that moment that I would never, never, never, ever give up on being a profoundly successful actress. Website:

Talk to us about your meet-up with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

The honor and privilege of meeting His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be amongst my most cherished memories in my life time. I was granted this honor by a couple of friends/colleagues of mine, Stephen Chetrit & San Bui. We are part of a Global Team committed to raising awareness & funds for The Children of Tibet. They arranged for me to meet Llama Khensur at a Monastery in Westminster, CA to prepare me. Llama Khensur is longtime friends with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and was with him the day he exiled from Tibet to India in 1959. The Dalai Lama and I met on Earth Day, April 22, 2012 at his hotel in Long Beach, CA. His Holiness is a deeply compassionate and loving man. I’ve accepted the position of the CA Children’s Ambassador for the Children of Tibet and Himalayas. I am organizing a fundraising event in Los Angeles in Nov. 2012 for the Sera Mey Construction. His Holiness the Dalai Lama donated 3 acres of land for the construction site for this prayer hall, school and orphanage.  The first floor has been constructed, as well as, the dorms. It will house 200 orphans and 500 monks, who will care for the orphans. I’ve included a link to pix of construction and donate button to this construction at the link below. Thank you in advance! What was it like working with Marc Scott Zicree?

What it’s like working with Marc Scott Zicree; he has a very intense energy with a wildly creative imagination. Marc has vivid images of what he intends to make happen, and is extremely articulate expressing what it is that he is committed to creating. I’ve worked with Marc on many projects over the years; Supporting role, as Ensign Juvenia and hair & make-up for main characters George Takei & Christina Moses in STAR TREK NV: World Enough and Time, Assisted him in the recordings of THE TWILIGHT ZONE Audio commentaries, several supporting roles in his MAGIC TIME Radio Show, and had a co-starring role in his staged reading of a potential TV pilot, SAVAGE DONUT PARADISE. His next great project, SPACE COMMAND is a production I’d love to be co-starring in too!

What is your one best gig or achievement thus far?

My one best gig, achievement thus far is being the wife of my best friend, Chris Rossen for 18 years. We celebrate 19 years on Dec. 31st. I am filled with faith and gratitude for all that is now. I’m writing a book about our marriage, title to be determined.

Tell us about your production company.

Our production company was started in 2004 with seasoned and talented individuals. We had a beautiful studio in the hills, and all the equipment to produce award winning films.  It was an exciting time! We created a feature film package of award winning short films that a well-known studio was interested in, and then we were hired to produce a few songs for a feature film. Very soon after this success, I quickly learned I was in the school of hard knocks. My partners and I went our separate ways. I’ve gone on to produce THREE ORBS OF LIGHT, THE LOCKER’S HEART, THE SAND CASTLE, HOMECOMING, DON’T ADVERTISE, THE TRANSPORT, DREAM STATE, and many many more to come!

Any upcoming projects or initiatives you would like to discuss?

We are filming episode 2 of THREE ORBS OF LIGHT now. We are discussing other ideas for this project as well. I have three booking contracts for co-starring roles in 10+ million dollar features.

What are your leisure time activities?

My leisure time activities; reading, watching movies, spending time with family and friends, eating in or out, spa times, painting, playing guitar and envisioning a world of peace and harmony for all.

Thank you.
