Welcome to OpenBeast. Tell us about yourself.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. The middle child of 3 girls, I learned at an early age to speak up or I wouldn’t be heard.  I moved to Missouri in 1996 when my father took a job transfer with the May Company.   I have been married to Kevin for 13 years and we have 3 children. Rebecca is 11 and is a 6th grader at Francis Howell Middle School.  Kevin is 9, and Sean is 6 and both are students at Warren. We also have a dog named Miles who most would say I consider being my 3rd son (smiles).

So what is Younique Presenter?

Younique is a cosmetic company that focuses on virtual (online) parties.  I was introduced to the product and loved it.  I decided to become a presenter so I could introduce the product to many others.  I saw it as a great opportunity financially as well.  I can make “play” money basically just speaking to people about something I personally use and love.  The business has grown so much that I am confident I will be making enough money in no time to provide more to my children.

What is you one best achievement thus far?

I am very proud of how far I’ve come in life since moving to Missouri.  I was an 18 year old young woman that had just been accepted to Hofstra University in Long Island, NY when my parents announced they were moving. I struggled with what choice to make but I knew in my heart moving was the best opportunity for me. I went from Delivering pizza for a local Pizza Company to being a QA specialist for a major Development and Discovery company. I love my job and I find great enjoyment in my work. My greatest achievement is the birth of my 3 children. I am very proud of my career but motherhood is the most challenging and rewarding job I could ever have. Without my children and my husband I wouldn’t be half the person I am today.

What inspired to run for alderwoman?

Several discussions with my neighbors have come up over the past two years regarding how we can make a better community for our families. Some challenges have also come up along the way and after thinking it through I knew the only way I could make a difference is by running for Alderman.

If you get elected what are your plans and goals?

First and foremost I want to listen to the people.  I want to be able to represent my community in the best way possible and help make any changes that will better the area. I know things take time and money, but I am willing to do my part and hopefully be a part of some amazing contributions to my community. I want to be a voice for the families with young children that are the future of Cottleville. I want to be the voice for any resident of Cottleville that wants what’s best for the community. I would love to be an advocate for those who are not able to speak for themselves. I love my community of Cottleville and can’t wait to watch my children grow up in what I consider the best town in St. Charles County.
